CAHill TECH wins associated general contractors’ innovation award : Award Presented to Founder/CEO Carley Hill and her team at AGC Annual Convention
Grapevine, TX – Carley Hill, founder, president, and CEO of CAHill TECH was recognized on March 28 as a winner of the national 2022 Innovation Award by the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) at its annual convention. The award comes with a cash prize of $3,500. CAHill TECH was recognized for its innovative aQuiRe™ app, a subscription-based, e-learning platform that provides company-wide safety and training for the construction industry.
“This opportunity is something I’ve aspired to for many years,” said Carley. “I have such an incredible team to thank for where we are today. I also want to give a special ‘shout-out’ to my dad, Gary Hill, who’s always been there as a mentor for me.”
Located in Clarence, NY, CAHill TECH is a certified WBE, DBE, WOSB firm founded with the mission to change the narrative surrounding the construction industry by delivering knowledge, iron, and safety to the workforce in an innovative way. Carley founded CAHill TECH during the pandemic to meet a need she saw in the field, developing the company’s game-changing aQuiRe ™ app. “There is a substantial workforce gap in the infrastructure industry, slowing growth and development,” said Carley. “The next generation needs efficient methods to access transferable knowledge in the skilled trades but sharing standardized processes quickly in the industry is a challenge.”
“Our aQuiRe™ app improves job readiness for the NextGen workforce by modernizing mentor/protégé relationships through a field-based delivery channel,” continued Carley. “Our platform is a game-changer for our clients—there is no better way to capture tribal knowledge than through micro-burst documentary videos.” aQuiRe™ codes are installed as decals on machines or on jobsite posters, and, when scanned, lead directly to SME’s teaching best practices—available 24/7 right in the field. There are currently more than 300 modules and thousands of instantly shareable resources. CAHill is also constantly publishing new content. The team shoots footage day or night, in all scenarios—capturing true-to life conditions and methods.
“It’s a very user-friendly platform,” said Chris DiStefano, vice president at Harrison & Burrowes Bridge Constructors Inc. “A great product—I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s a benefit to everybody. It’s a built-in transfer of knowledge.”
In 2018—while celebrating 100 years of serving the construction industry—the AGC also wanted to recognize the importance of looking towards the future to address ongoing issues affecting the industry. In that spirit, AGC made the Innovation Awards annual, incentivizing and encouraging free thinkers to provide pioneering solutions to industry challenges.
Autodesk’s Jarod X. Coelho, senior manager, strategic partnerships (construction) and one of the Innovation Award judges had this to say: “The thing that really stood out about CAHill TECH was the impact potential of the technology. This could—and will—have a tremendous impact. We looked into the future and agreed that this is how everyone will be consuming this sort of instructional information.”
