Chaney Enterprises, a ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and custom blends provider, announces the purchase of the sand and gravel operation of Virginia Sand & Stone located in Newtown, Virginia.
Virginia Sand & Stone comprised of 220 acres in King and Queen County, was purchased in 2012 by Chief Executive Officer Tom Madden. Later, Madden made improvements to the sand and gravel mining operation to further expand in 350 additional acres and establish other construction related endeavors.
Chaney Enterprises has been a neighbor of Virginia Sand & Stone for many years with land ownership in Mattaponi. As similar businesses both in proximity and values, attainment of the operations is a quintessential fit.
“This purchase compliments our current land holdings as we expand connecting our sand and gravel operations from Maryland to Delaware and throughout Virginia. We look forward to serving the current customers of Virginia Sand & Stone while bringing our phenomenal, hard-working team members together,” remarks Francis “Hall” Chaney, III, chief executive officer for Chaney Enterprises.
The sand and gravel mining operation in Newtown will be Chaney Enterprises’ fourth sand and gravel facility in Virginia joining Moss Neck Sand and Gravel in Woodford, VA, Charles City Sand and Gravel in Charles City, VA and Stony Creek Sand and Gravel in Carson, VA.
